Our kitchen is enhanced by Chris‘s recommendations.
- The old analogue thermometer only went up to 220 degrees. The new digital goes up to 450 degrees. Perfect for fudge and frying.
- The $40 bargain was a Best-Buy recommended by Chris. Compare this $40 pan to the $250 French version.
- Norpro meat pounder for $20 replaces our old potato masher, which was terrible and so much work. Good riddance.
- Tired of having hair from the brush in our food, this silicon brush is dishwasher safe. Just $8.
- Tapered Rolling Pin, $10, replaces our broken rolling pin (missing one handle). The tapered ends will help to make perfectly round pizza dough.
- Tired of our old, small, rigid and extremely meltable spatula, this $17 spatula is very great and can be used directly in a hot pan.
- Digit scale is very important for baked items, espcially rolls and breads (not necessarily for Cappuccino)
Equipment Needed:
- Lincoln Foodservice Half-Size Heavy Duty Sheet Pan
- Forschner Victorinox Fibrox Chef’s Knife $22.29
- Chicago Cutlery Walnut Tradition Steak Knife Set $24 for set of 4
- Pyrex Bakeware 9 Inch Pie Plate

hey good luck…just make sure not to let Paola do the cooking, haha!!!! : )
This is Brilliant …. Denise will be very busy
Thanks Dave…Or you can just come for a visit. I’ll be happy to make you anything that looks good.
CI updated its meat pounder review, and now recommends a different one.
Hi Dana, you are right. CI has the following reservations regarding my meat pounder, “When pitted against heavier models, the flaws of this offset-handled pounder became apparent. Shorter testers, pounding at a less optimal angle, found that the heel of the disk often dug into and tore the meat.”
They recommend the “Norpro Grip-Ez Meat Pounder” for $17.50. They say “The shape and heft of this vertical-style model provided the right combination of control and force to produce nearly flawless cutlets.”
